Savvii is searching for a Senior Manager, Credit Underwriting & Investigations to provide leadership and oversight of Savvii’s credit underwriting & investigations team.

Your role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Risk, The Senior Manager, Credit Underwriting & Investigations will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of Savvii’s Credit and Underwriting operations and strategy. This includes recommendations for credit policy amendments, development of risk strategy, performance management, and strategy optimization.

The Senior Manager, Credit Underwriting & Investigations is responsible for facilitating company-wide underwriting strategies, including design and development of processes and procedures, training curriculum, and control frameworks. Provide “best practice” solutions for business activities of the Underwriting team to ensure operational execution is efficient, results-oriented, and consistently interpreted. Provide direction to departments through initiative prioritization, integration, and resource application and ensure that policies and procedures align with the corporate vision.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of the Head of Risk:

  • Provide overall operational leadership to the Credit underwriting team.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to consistently improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure industry-leading customer service levels are maintained throughout the credit adjudication and escalation process.
  • Manage escalations reported from external and internal customers and stakeholders based on assigned lending authority.
  • Oversee training, coaching, and development of the credit team, and assist the Head of Risk with operational projects and in documenting procedural guidelines within the Credit Operations team.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas, such as Customer Care, Collections and Fraud, to drive process improvements.
  • Act as the business Subject Matter Expert for all credit and underwriting operational initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of personal credit lending practices.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical focus & problem-solving skills.
  • Proven people manager with a desire to coach and develop employees.
  • Ability to collect/analyze data to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure credit quality/call quality and address identified trends.
  • Knowledge of operational risk, and risk management principles.
  • Ability to multitask with limited supervision.
  • Effective communicator and ability to handle customer, partner, and merchant interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and change management skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to actively lead and implement ideas effectively in a collaborative and cross-functional working environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ years of experience in consumer credit and customer engagement. Credit Card experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
