MANAGER, FINANCE AND DATA INSIGHTS

Reporting to the Heads of Product, the Manager, Finance and Data Insights, is responsible for driving value by providing financial and data analytic support across Savvii to ensure that key drivers of the business are quantified and well understood, the right business decisions are made among competing options, and that capital is being deployed as efficiently as possible.

Reporting to the Heads of Product, the Manager, Finance and Data Insights, is responsible for driving value by providing financial and data analytic support across Savvii to ensure that key drivers of the business are quantified and well understood, the right business decisions are made among competing options, and that capital is being deployed as efficiently as possible.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide financial support to business partners and perform planned and ad hoc business case analyses on a wide variety of opportunities that arise in the business. Ensure that assumptions for business cases are achievable and that performance measurement processes of approved business cases for various strategic initiatives are in place.
  • Lead the analysis and communication of business results to the leadership team.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze key performance indicators to detect and interpret emerging issues/ trends.
  • Lead the development and management of the Financial Plan along with Forecasting and Reporting for the full P&L including volumes, revenue, spreads, fees, expenses and losses.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Supports the management of the overall program and project budget.
  • Builds the end-to-end implementation of the analytics life cycle – data collection, deep-dive insight analytics, reporting and presentations.
  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders across the business.
  • Supports the design and implementation of our digital analytics measurement framework and tagging while also helping us understand our Digital metrics overall.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Ability to collect/analyze data to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure credit quality/call quality and address identified trends.
  • Curious, driven and has a positive work ethic.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills; detail-oriented.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are necessary for professional interactions with customers, partners and business lines to ensure a high level of credibility.
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills to provide recommendations and solutions while proactively looking for opportunities to suggest changes that create value.
  • Knowledge of consumer credit risk assessment with a focus on credit origination and account management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office product suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree / College Diploma in Business / Finance / Economics or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A CPA CGA, CMA, CA member or CFA would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify key trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Access. Strong experience with SQL, Python, Scala or equivalent tools. Strong understanding of Google Analytics or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years in Finance and/or Data Analytics roles with experience in fast-paced digital environments.
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience in FinTech or banking, specifically Credit Cards, Pre-Paid Cards, Debit Cards / Deposit products.
  • Strong data and insights communication skills.

Working conditions: 

Team members will be working in traditional office environments and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business.
